[Result "1-0"]
1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 a6 4. Bxc6 dxc6 5. O-O Bg4 6. d3 {d3 is the second
most popular move, but I some how like the odd pawn structure that arises. It
sort of pulls black into an attack that isn't so easy to construct and makes a
queenside attack possible.} Qf6 7. Nbd2 h6 {The first not theory move. Fritz
doesn't consider it especially heinous.} (7... Ne7) 8. Nc4 Bxf3 9. Qxf3 Qxf3
10. gxf3 {So from here the game begins. The pawn structure is set and it's
time to come up with plans accordingly. It's hard to say what black will do
with his king. My plans seem to be either centrally based with a c3-d4-e5
push or queenside via c3 b4 and a4. Black can try controlling f4 and pushing
g4 to open a file on my king but i'm not sure what other plans are available
for him.} f6 (10... Bd6 11. f4 (11. a4 g5 12. Be3 Ne7 13. c3 {To play against
the central king instead of a queenside attack. c3 also supports b4.} (13.
Rfb1 {Assuming the black king will castle queenside, but I'm not sure it's
necessary for him to do so. c3 seems better.} Ng6 {I think I like this better
for black. Something like a Nf4, Rg8, g4 seems like a way to gain some
pressure. The rook on b1 might be silly if black never plays 0-0-0}) 13... Ng6
14. Kg2) 11... exf4 12. e5 Bf8 13. Bxf4 Ne7 14. Rae1 b5 15. Na5 Kd7 {I'm not
sure how to use the extra development here.}) 11. Be3 {non-commital, useful
move. I want to see what his king will do and prevent Bc5.} O-O-O (11... Bd6
12. f4 exf4 13. Nxd6+ cxd6 14. Bxf4 Kd7) (11... Ne7 12. f4 {Jump on f4 before
its too late?} (12. b4 Nc8 13. a4 Bxb4 (13... Nd6 14. Na5 b6 15. Nxc6 Kd7 16.
b5 axb5 17. axb5 Rxa1 18. Rxa1 Nxb5) 14. Rab1) 12... exf4 13. Bxf4 Kd7 14. d4 {
I think black is probably holding a easy draw here.}) 12. a4 (12. h4 g5 13. h5)
12... g5 13. Rfb1 Ne7 14. b4 Ng6 {knight maneuver is thematic and normal
looking but i'm not sure it helps black open up files on the the king. I
missed the opportunity to play h4 but i'm not convinced the knight is as
useful as it looks.} 15. Kg2 Nh4+ 16. Kg3 f5 {Black must be bored with the
goings on presses his attack while all his pieces are still at home. maybe
stuff like be7 and rf8 or g8 first to prepare is nicer.} 17. Nxe5 (17. exf5
Nxf5+ 18. Kg2 (18. Kg4 {A king too forward?} Nd4 19. Ra2 (19. Bxd4 Rxd4+ 20.
Kg3 b5 21. axb5 cxb5 {Again blacks making the moves and whites responding.})

careful consideration.}) 20... Be7+) 18... Nd4 19. Bxd4 exd4 20. b5 {Calmer at
least for white but I guess g4/h5 stuff will come soon enough.}) 17... f4+ 18.
Bxf4 gxf4+ (18... Bd6 {Exposing the error of nxe5. I just missed this and
though black had blundered. Well black missed it too so black did blunder.})
19. Kxh4 {The game should be over now as nothing will stop white from making a
pair of passers.} Bg7 20. Nf7 Bxa1 21. Rxa1 Rhg8 22. Nxd8 Kxd8 23. Kh3 {To
stop rg1 but fritz thinks this is unecessary. This is because at least blacks
rook is keeping f4 safe by blocking the road. If he does take on h2, I get to
move over and clean up shop. But blacks rook has too much work to do holding
the queenside together and safeguarding f4.} (23. Kh5 Rg2 24. Rf1 Rxh2+ 25. Kg4
Ke7 26. Kxf4 {Being much more direct about creating those passed pawns than I
played in the game.}) 23... Kd7 24. Rb1 Kd6 25. b5 cxb5 26. axb5 a5 27. b6 c6
28. Ra1 Rg5 {This was necessary earlier but all is lost anyway. The only
question is does white know how to win. I think so - I think scooting my
pawns up the board is sufficient but there seem to have been clearer ways to
do this.} 29. d4 Rb5 30. c4 Rb3 31. e5+ Ke6 32. Kg4 Rxb6 33. Rxa5 Rb2 34. Kxf4
Rxf2 35. d5+ cxd5 36. cxd5+ Kd7 37. Rb5 Kc7 38. d6+ Kc6 39. Rb3 (39. Rd5 Kxd5
40. d7 {A common trick but i didn't notice it.}) 39... Rxh2 40. Rc3+ Kd7 41.

win in several ways.} 47. Qg6# (47. Rc7#) (47. Qe7#) (47. Qd7#) (47. Qg8#) 1-0
