[Result "1-0"]
1. Nf3 c5 2. c4 Nc6 3. Nc3 g6 4. g3 d6 5. Bg2 Bg7 6. O-O Nf6 7. d4 cxd4 8. Nxd4
Bd7 $1 {Somehow with his particular move order, black has avoided having to
swap Knights on d4 (which is a comfortable setup for white to play in which
black will be very passive) by getting in ...Bd7 just in time instead of
castling earlier.} 9. Bg5 O-O 10. Rc1 a6 11. b3 Rb8 12. Nxc6 (12. Qd2 {
Continuous development is better, keeping Nxc6 for later if necessary.}) 12...
bxc6 13. h3 Re8 14. Qd2 Qc8 15. g4 Bxg4 $4 {Black's first and only awful
mistake. This sacrifice leads to nowhere. White is now firmly in advantage,
though what I am really happy about with this game is how effortlessly I
converted the rest of it into a win. Maybe I'm not that rusty after all?} 16.
hxg4 Qxg4 17. Qf4 $1 {Forcing exchange of Queens.} Qxf4 18. Bxf4 Rec8 {
Defending c6.} 19. c5 $5 {The idea is to break black's pawn structure and to
open the c-file for my Rook (and Bishop) to target black's pawn on c6. Note
that Black's d6 pawn is pinned by my Bishop on f4 against his Rook on b8.} e5
20. Bh2 Ng4 {Black tries to simultaneously attack my Bishop on h2 while
protecting his pawn on e5.} 21. Bg3 d5 22. Bh3 {Pinning black's Knight on g4
against his Rook on c8.} f5 {So black tries to defend the Knight while closing
the diagonal with the pawn push to f5.} 23. e4 {Which means that black's pawn
on f5 isn't really defending the e4 square from my pawn push.} dxe4 24. Nxe4
Rb4 {Again, black cannot take my Knight on e4 or he loses his Knight on g4.}
25. Nd6 Rf8 26. Rc4 {Just trying to swap off black's remaining active pieces,
while rerouting my Knight to c4 to attack pawn on e5.} Rxc4 27. Nxc4 h5 28. f3
{Once black's Knight retreats or is removed, black will lose a defender for
pawn on e5 and thus lose the pawn.} f4 {So black pushes the f-pawn to attack
my Bishop on g3 while shielding his pawn on e5.} 29. fxg4 hxg4 30. Bxg4 fxg3
31. Be6+ {Intermediate check to push black's King to the edge of the board.}
Kh7 32. Rxf8 Bxf8 33. b4 e4 34. Bd7 a5 35. Nxa5 e3 36. Bg4 {Defending against
black's e-pawn from queening.} Kh6 37. Kg2 Kg5 38. Kxg3 {And black resigned.} 1-0
