Best was e7a3. } {Stockfish says this is an inaccuracy, and recommends Ba3 which I had considered. I played this move for several reasons. The bishop seemed vulnerable to tactics being only protected by the Knight on f6. I had plans of moving a rook to d8 did not want the bishop blocking the rook. It also further protected the d pawn which was only defended by the knight at that point. Ba3 and then Rc2 and I feel I would have lost a tempo, the bishop would be poorly placed and White would have a chance to double heavy pieces on the only open file. My reasoning was that I did not want to move a light squared pawn around my King while my opponent still had their light squared bishop.
